Our last day of classes at Ono HS was bittersweet! Our time was so short and yet the new friendships built are very strong.
Our day started with a class together where students completed some work from home or wrote thank you letters to their host families. It was nice to take some time to reflect on our amazing time in Ono. Then we had a English class where we worked on writing a letter in Japanese about our visit to Kyoto last week. It was challenging writing in Japanese, but the help of the Ono students made it a little easier. A great way for students to study both Japanese and English!
For our next English class, the Ono students had prepared a quiz and a dance to teach us! It was fun to try and copy the movements of the students and dance to One Direction!
For forth period, we went to as physics class. Today we were studying the conservation on momentum. We conducted an experiment using rolling trollies to measure momentum before and after a collision. I don't know how successful the experiments were, but there was defiantly a lot of communication happening!
After lunch we had our final class with our host students and then our last English class. And when the bell rang, our official classes were over. But, luckily, the calligraphy club had organised for us to join them for afternoon club activities. We had the chance to practice writing many different kanji before doing one final good one on an proper kanji board.
Our classes and time here at Ono High School has been wonderful! All the teachers and students have been kind and friendly and treated us with the utmost respect. No matter where we walked, everyone said hello and stopped too have a chat! Ono is such a welcoming school and I can't thank the teachers and students enough for making our time there so special!
