This morning we woke and walked down to the Hiroshima Peace Park. We first visited the Genbaku Dome which is the only building left standing after the dropping of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima in 1945. We then saw the eternal flame and the Sadako memorial - a place to pay tribute to all the students affected. Next was the museum which was very moving and opened our eyes to the effects the atomic bomb had on Hiroshima and its people.
Our final destination was the memorial near the epicentre of where the bomb was dropped. Overall, the morning was a very moving experience for all of us.
